There is no substitute for the real thing. While quartz tries to mimic marble, it lacks the depth and crystalline structure that allows light to penetrate the surface of natural marble, giving it a subtle "glow."

Emperador

Living with Marble
We highly recommend marble for bathroom vanities, fireplace surrounds, and low-traffic areas. If used in a high-traffic kitchen, be prepared to embrace the patina or commit to diligent care.
Etching vs. Staining

Staining is when a liquid absorbs into the stone (red wine). Sealing prevents this.

Etching is a chemical reaction on the surface caused by acids (lemon juice, vinegar) that leaves a dull spot. Sealing does not prevent etching.
Sealing
We apply a high-quality impregnating sealer upon installation. You must re-seal marble every 6–12 months to prevent staining.
Use Trivets
Marble can suffer from thermal shock, so always use protection under hot pots and pans.
